The Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme
Posted on 19 July 2016
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, which is open to all Scouts and Explorers in Bromley District, recognises young people who have gone above and beyond, and achieved.
Winning an award should mean different things for different people – it may represent a personal triumph against adversity, it may recognise a young person who has pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone, or it may be the opportunity to recognise the outstanding efforts of a team player who always puts others first.
Each award winner receives a certificate, pin badge, and £250 to spend on something for their section or Scout Group, as well as an invitation to an annual awards ceremony where they receive a medal, often from the Mayor or another local dignitary.
Leaders or Young People can nominate individuals using the following online form:
There are three cycles during the year when awards are presented. The deadlines for nominations are:
- Round 1 – 1st November
- Round 2 – 1st March
- Round 3 – 1st June
